Holland Hall's Lily Boettcher will attempt to become the first player in school history to win a Southwest Preparatory Conference championship for four straight years.
Boettcher, who is coached at Holland Hall by Brian Underwood, will attend Yale where she will continue her golf career.
Boettcher has been playing golf for five years where she became interested in the game on her own after seeing Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam play in tournaments in Tulsa. She taught herself to play golf by reading "How To" books by Woods and Sorenstam.
She played 17 rounds of competitive golf, scoring in the 70's during the spring and summer of 2007. She placed in the top 10 in 13 national, state and local tournaments. Boettcher also ranked in the top 10 in six national tournaments and qualifiers where she was noticed by Yale head coach Chawwadee Rompothong.
"I've been playing pretty well so far this season," Boettcher said. "It's been a little up and down. I've had trouble hitting greens, but I'm looking forward to the end of the season and finishing strong.
"My No. 1 goal is to win the conference championship for a fourth time and also for our team to win the championship. We've got a great team this year so I'm looking forward to that."
