Ian Davis of Deer Creek comes up three strokes short

The Class 5A boys golf state championship was tight going into the final round.

Bixby's Karsten Majors was considered the favorite to win, following in his brothers footsteps, but Deer Creek's Ian Davis made a run in the second round shooting a 69 and getting one stroke back from Majors. But on the final day the Deer Creek product feel three strokes short of a state title. Majors finished with a total score of 216 in three rounds shooting, 74-70-72 while Davis shot, 75-69-75.

In team scoring Ardmore took top honors with Bixby in second. The rest of the field was as follows;
