Girls Class A Preston has no easy road to finals

No.1 Preston(25-3) has a first round opponent with a better record than them in Beaver (26-2). Preston had a tough schedule this season and could have easily been undefeated had they not jumped up in Class. However Beaver is a good team. It's seniors are solid players and they do have a history of winning state titles, (94, 95). But will they have enough to get past Preston? Probably not, but stranger things have happened. Looking at the rest of the teams in Class A, Copan may be the best shooting team with Jill Bryan. The 5-10 senior averages over 30 points per game. Their first round match-up is with Cashion. A team that has four seniors starting and these girls remember winning it all in 07. My pick to win it all is Moss. This team will have no seniors starting the game. All juniors and one freshman. The freshman is Caitlyn Ramirez (6-2) and she's averaging over 15 points per game. They are ranked seventh in Class A coming in and could be the dark horse of the tournament. Varnum is another team you don't want to overlook. All seniors! Two players averaging 20 plus points and Kelsi Vass has eclipsed the 2,000 point barrier. Varnum is for real and could take it all. Lomega is another team with great shooting. Three players in double digits can't hurt. Sasakwa, Chattanooga and Cyril might be longshots.
