Shattuck garners national win streak. It's all Shattuck, both in Oklahoma and nationally. The Indians not only won their sixth straight state championship this weekend with a 68-44 win over Thackerville, but they also extended what is now the longest football winning streak anywhere in the nation. Just a couple of weeks ago, Stephan-Argyle, Minnesota, which was tied with Shattuck in the active top 10 nationally, saw it's lengthy streak snapped with a 7-0 playoff loss to Kittson County Central. South Panola, Mississippi had been in the number one slot for more than a year with an 89-game victory string but saw that mark broken Friday night with a 26-20 overtime loss to Meridian in the Mississippi State Championship. Shattuck now has 81 consecutive on-the-field wins heading into next season and there's nobody even close now. Next in line WAS Maryville, Tennessee with 74 straight wins, but that run also ended on Saturday in a 10-7 loss to Hillsboro in the Tennessee state title contest. Next year the Indians will take full aim on Morrison's 90-game state record streak.
