2nd Annual Gridiron Classic has Great Crowds, Great Games

The 2nd Annual Gridiron Classic was just that, classic. The first game featured Sapulpa vs. Southmoore. Southmoore is in their first year of existence, but that didn't stop them from beating Sapulpa. Game two featured Springdale Har-Ber from Arkansas against Owasso. Owasso's big line and fast tailback, Jacques Washington, had a tough time with Springdale, but in the end the Rams pulled it out, 14-7. The final game of the night was Union vs. Bentonville. Union scored three touchdowns and beat the Tigers 21-0. Quarterback Chase Boyce threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for one. Two players were carted off the field including Sapulpa quarterback Michael Glisson with a neck injury. Glisson returned after the scrimmage had ended. Bentonville lost a wide receiver to an apparent leg injury. In other scrimmages around town; East Central and Booker T. Washington has their game cut short after a fight broke out after a play late in the game. The contest was called and both teams were sent to the locker room. Before the incident Booker T. Washington beat McLain, 13-0. East Central beat Central, 7-0 and Booker T. Washington was beating East Central, 14-3 when the game was called.
