2008 Preseason Class 6A All-State Selections

Friday, August 15, 2008

OFFENSE QB - Tyler Tettleton, Norman North (6-1, 185, sr.) He is back after missing last year after suffering a major knee injury. But expectations are still high for the hard thrower. RB - Jeremy Smith, Union (5-10, 197, Sr.) He runs through and around defenders. He is the main weapon for the Union offense this year. He has orally committed to Oklahoma State. RB - Beau Blankenship, Norman North (5-8, 205, sr.) Small and tough. He is one of the best running backs in the state after leading the state in rushing a year ago with 2,200 yards and 26 touchdowns. WR - Tremaine Thompson, Jenks (5-9, 155, Sr.) He plays much bigger than his size. He is deceivingly quick and strong. WR - Anthony Foster, Union (5-10, 175, Sr.) He just catches everything thrown to him. And then he can run passed defenders, too. TE - Tracy Moore, Union (6-2, 205, Sr.) He's a mismatch for everybody. He is big, fast, strong and can score touchdowns. OL - Brandon Webb, Owasso (6-4, 275, Sr.) He is the son of former Oklahoma All-American Terry Webb so he has some good genes. But he chose to verbally commit to Oklahoma State. OL - Alvin Bailey, Broken Arrow (6-4, 300, sr.) He is a three year starter at left tackle. He just pushes defenders around with his size and strength. OL - Gavin Howard, Owasso (6-5, 265, Sr.) He is the leader of a strong Rams offensive line despite not getting as much attention as his other line mates. OL - Brian DeShane, Union (6-3, 280, Sr.) He anchors an offensive line that will be opening plenty of holes for their running backs. He has verbally committed to Tulsa. OL - Eric Graham, Jenks (6-5, 270, jr.) He is the latest in a long line of talented Trojan linemen. Quick feet for a big guy and strong as well. Kicker - Bryce Easley, Norman North (6-2, 180) He gets to kick a lot with a high-powered offense, and he takes advantage of it. He made 11-of-17 field goals a year ago with a long of 43 yards. DEFENSE DL- Chris Ray, Jenks (6-4, 220, Sr.) He has tremendous speed to get around bigger offensive linemen and get to the ballcarrier. DL - Michael Bowie, Sand Springs (6-5, 310, Sr.) An underrated defensive player because he does not play for one of the top East-side teams. Bowie uses his size to shove opponents around. DL - Andy Blackard, Claremore (6-1, 240, Sr.) He is the younger brother of former OU commitment Billy Blackard. Andy has quickly developed into a standout on defense. LB - Nathan Badger, Norman North (6-2, 250, sr.) Badger is getting national attention for his skills. These are the words from espn.com "Badger is a good football player. You like his motor and productivity." LB - Erik Howell, Muskogee (6-2, 230, sr.) He seems to make tackles all over the field. He led 6A in tackles with 176 a year ago. LB - Beau Traber, Norman North (6-0, 220, sr.) He's a non-stop hustler and motor guy. He was second in 6A a year ago with 164 tackles. LB - Kamron Stewart, Midwest City (6-0, 21-, sr.) He is one of the strongest players in the state. He pushes blockers around. He had 129 tackles a year ago. DB - Randy Stanley, Union (5-8, 160, Sr.) He knows how to get to the ball when it's in the air. He led 6A in interceptions a year ago with six. DB - Gabe Lynn, Jenks (6-1, 180, Sr.) He might be the most highly recruited player in the state this year. He is rated as the 25th best prospect in the country by Rivals.com. DB - Tim Flanders, Midwest City (5-9, 190, sr.) He might be the fastest player in the star. He just explodes to the ball on offense and defense. DB -Anthony Phillips, Mustang (5-10, 170, sr.). Phillips has developed into a stingy defender, especially last year. He had five interceptions, including one for a touchdown, and 60 tackles a year ago. Punter - J.T. Goins, Broken Arrow (5-10, 175, sr.) One of the strongest legs around, Goins had a 39 yard punt average with 40 punts a year ago.
