While Oklahoma’s team didn’t have a lot of success in this year’s Sunbelt Classic, overall, the summer baseball event turned out all right.
For the first time in three years, the schedule wasn’t affected by rain.
Last year, rain scrambled the schedule and forced organizers to seek alternative fields.
In 2007, rain did away with most of the schedule, and Georgia was crowned champion based on round-robin play.
But it wasn’t just the weather that went right this season.
Last year, the teams from California and Florida pulled out of the tournament late, leaving organizers looking for replacements.
One was easy — Canada had wanted in for years, but there just hadn’t been room.
