The Hot and Cold Of It

Thursday, November 1, 2007

OK HSSTM readers, this is what you have been asking for. Softball and volleyball season has ended with some phenomenal stories and football season is chugging full-speed into the playoffs.

As we shift into basketball season towards the end of November, there is one major question on the minds of basketball fans in Eastern Oklahoma. Where is the Verdigris phenom Rontei Clarke going to college? The senior sharp-shooter scored more points than entire teams combined in last year's playoffs, breaking scoring records faster than a toddler can break a new toy. Clarke has taken recruiting trips just about everywhere and has narrowed the field down to just a handful. Take a look at his journey (pg. ).

If you don't know who Shawn Jackson is you better pay attention. The McLain quarterback is running for touchdowns and making a huge difference on defense. See why Jackson is the next big thing for McLain. Willie Alexander graduated from Muskogee in the late 80's and headed off to Marshall to play football. Catch up with the former Rougher in this month's Where Are They Now.

Lastly, we have been giving you the best in high school sports for nearly two and a half years. Now it is time to give you the best local and nationwide high school sports website in Eastern Oklahoma. We will be delivering the latest in highlights, features, scores, and videos. Be sure to check it out at www.hsstm.com in November.

Don't forget to take notice of the HSSTM franchises that have joined the team on the website. The Dallas/Ft. Worth markets of Collin County and Tarrant County have just sent their inaugural issues to the printer and can be picked up on racks in the DFW area in November.

Keep the letters coming and just remember that these kids and coaches are earning their spot in HSSTM. I encourage you to.......
