Kickers from Oklahoma and across the plains have a chance to get some tips about kicking from former Tulsa and NFL kicker Staurovsky. He, along with his kicking academy, are running the Great Plains High School Kickoff on Aug. 2 at LaFortune Stadium in Tulsa. The competition is put on to identify college prospects. It is a competition to find the best high school kicker and punter on the plains. There will be prizes and college recruiting exposure for the winners. There will also be the Don Chandler Award for Outstanding Kicker to the overall champion. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the kickoff competition begins at 10 a.m. The fee is $100 for the entire competition.
