We’re back and better than ever! Summer is in full swing and, yeah, it’s hot; but the weather isn’t the only thing heating up. VYPE High School Sports Magazine is sizzling, loaded with the exploits of our tremendous high school athletes. School may be out, but there is still plenty of terrific action taking place on fields and courts throughout the county.
In Oley, a 7v7 boys high school soccer league gave players a chance to get their foot on the ball in preparation for the fall season. A girl’s outdoor basketball league gave middle school and high school players a chance to compete and hone their skills. More of the same was taking place on volleyball courts, field hockey fields, and football fields. The fall season is in the forefront of everyone’s mind.
In this issue, be sure to turn to Tim McMaster’s football preview and see who we think will be the teams to beat this fall. Let us know if we got it right! We also introduce a new column this month – for student writers. Taylor Huey from Oley Valley fills us in on what it’s like to be a high level gymnast. This new department in our magazine will be something we run throughout the year, so if you’re an aspiring journalist, shoot us an email with your article idea. Maybe your story will be in an upcoming issue of VYPE High School Sports Magazine!
