Fowler Captures 4th in Sundays 200-Meter Finals
Charlotte, NC. - After posting a PR of 21.96 in the qualifying run of the 200-Meters on Thursday, Conrad Weiser's Lamont Fowler bested his qualifying time with a 21.94 in the finals on Saturday. This was good enough to take home 4th. Fowler won his qualifying heat on Friday in the 400-meter running a 47.96. That final takes place tomorrow (Sunday).
Devan Coon from Schuylkill Valley ran a 25.68 in her qualifying heat of the 200-meter on Thursday but failed to medal in Todays final of that event. On Friday, Coon ran a 58.41 in the 400 to qualify 12th for the finals on Sunday.
The Championship event is a national competition with entry based upon qualifying standards for each event and has the same age divisions as the USATF Junior Olympic program. The USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships are also scored for team championships in all age divisions and is a popular competition for clubs around the country. Fowler, Devan Coon, and Jason Coon all compete for the Tri-County Express Track Club of Pottstown.
The Tri County Express Track Club (TCX) provides a means for youth of Western Montgomery, Eastern Berks, and Northern Chester Counties to participate in track & field and cross country and compete in the Junior Olympic programs in each sport. The club is sanctioned by the Mid Atlantic USA Track and Field (USATF) and Middle Atlantic AAU Associations.
The Tri County Express ("TCX") Track Club was established in 1986 by Head Coach John Barber.
