This month HSSTM interviews Laura Jenkins, a junior on the soccer team at Providence High School. She plays center midfielder and striker for Providence and also plays club soccer. She enjoys all sports, including track and swimming. She says when people ask her if she has a social life since she is on the road playing sports nearly every weekend, she says it's OK, "It's what I want to do."
Laura's coach, Dave Smith, says Laura leads by example. "Her work ethic is incredible. She sets high goals for herself, and her kindness toward teammates on and off the field creates an atmosphere where the players rally around her."
