Austin Pegram, who will be a senior next year, plays soccer and basketball for J.G. Brown School. For the past two years, he's been a starting point guard on the basketball team. Plus he plays forward striker on the soccer team. Last season, he had 17 goals for the season, including four goals in the district tournament game against Central. He makes all As and Bs according to his basketball coach, Justin Leonard.

Zane Wheatley, a junior at DeSales High School, has played baseball all three years. Zane plays first base, third base, and pitches. "He's our leading hitter and he's a nice kid," says his coach, Tom McAnally. Zane has had several memorable games, including one when he was a freshman when he was called in to pinch-hit in the regional game and he got a game-winning hit. This year, he hit a home run against Fern Creek that put the team ahead by 3 runs.

This month HSSTM interviews Laura Jenkins, a junior on the soccer team at Providence High School. She plays center midfielder and striker for Providence and also plays club soccer. She enjoys all sports, including track and swimming. She says when people ask her if she has a social life since she is on the road playing sports nearly every weekend, she says it's OK, "It's what I want to do."

Laura's coach, Dave Smith, says Laura leads by example. "Her work ethic is incredible. She sets high goals for herself, and her kindness toward teammates on and off the field creates an atmosphere where the players rally around her." ...

Brad Marlow is a senior at Louisville Male High School and is one of the two starting pitchers. Brad made the high school team as an eighth grader and has achieved everything from a perfect game to winning tournaments. He hopes to continue his successful baseball career in college.
