Only in its first year, the Oldham County ice hockey team won the Kentucky High School Hockey League state tournament and finished the season with a record of 17-1. Oldham County met St. Xavier in the state final on March 8 in Lexington, coming away with a 4-3 victory. Conor Matsen, left, was the league’s high scorer for the season with 38 goals. Matsen was joined by teammates Ivan Afanasyev and goaltender Sal Olivet on the KHSHL All State honorable mention team.
