Stick-bending Defense
St. Xavier defenseman Bobby Schmitt bends his stick head in half as he braces himself against Trinity’s defensive efforts in the fourth annual Stickhead Fall Brawl lacrosse tournament. St. Xavier edged past Trinity 19-17 in the Division I championship at E. P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park on October 11. Ballard was third. In the Division II championship, Kentucky Country Day defeated Christian Academy of Louisville 25-11. The event, sponsored by adidas Lacrosse, drew 13 teams.
