Fern Creek Traditional High School, Volleyball Team
Senior libero Kristi Farmer lead the Fern Creek volleyball team in a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on September 30. The team chose to support this organization in honor of Fern Creek Principal Houston Barber’s son, Preston, who was diagnosed with a form of leukemia last year when he was only two years old. The team sold “Team Barber” wristbands and t-shirts, held a split-the-pot raffle, and sold treats at a dessert table to collect money to be donated to LLS. Whitefield Academy, the Tigers’ opponent, joined in the fundraising efforts and both teams wore green ribbons in support of the cause.
