"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." - Confucius

I have no doubt that the enthusiasm we put into making this magazine will spread to each of you as you experience each story and picture in this publication.

What a great day to be alive in Greater Louisville! Today my dream has come true. I am Maria Raque, the owner and publisher of High School Sports the Magazine – Greater Louisville. I have dreamed of creating this magazine for a long time, and with my husband Scott, our brother John and our families we are seeing it come to fruition.
We will publish 12 issues a year and distribute 20,000 copies of each in seven counties including Jefferson, Oldham, Bullitt, Spencer, and Shelby in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark in Indiana. In each issue we will cover a wide range of sports– football, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, wrestling, track, golf, pole vaulting, cheerleading, dance, crew, band, bowling, gymnastics, field hockey and everything in between.
As publisher, I am proud to tell you each member of the HSSTM team is passionate about athletics, the kids and our community! I have no doubt that the enthusiasm we put into making this magazine will spread to each of you as you experience each story and picture in this publication. We have the best of the best on our team.
As a parent of seven active teenagers, I am proud to bring this magazine to our community. I have been a player, coach, fan, and parent. Scott, Jacob, Elizabeth, Meredith, Scotty, Alex, Max, Caroline and I are deeply rooted in the activities and athletics of our city and we hope to showcase as many of our local athletes as we can.
If you have a story to share or a player worth writing about, TELL US! We want to work with your schools and you in spreading the word or just positively showcasing your hard work, drive, and abilities. We also want to encourage proper training, healthy eating and exercising, as well as a good attitude.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in the next few years. Go Team!
Hard Work Pays off...
