KHSAA Honors Local Athletes for Sportsmanship

Doug Crawford (DeSales), Megan Geary (Brown), Nicholas Jones (St. Xavier) and Avery Jones (DuPont Manual) were named regional winners in the Forcht Group of Kentucky/KHSAA Sportsmanship Recognition Program at the annual banquet held on Sunday, April 26 at the Embassy Suites in Lexington. 

A boy and a girl from each region were recognized and honored at the banquet, along with the state winners, Jasmine Hall of Phelps and Will Barnes of Caldwell County.  

KHSAA member schools selected one girl and one boy as the local sportsmanship winner. School winners were then eligible to be selected as the regional winner. From the 32 regional winners (one girl and one boy from each of Kentucky’s 16 regions), the statewide winners were selected. Selection criteria includes grade point average, letters of recommendation, leadership roles/honors, response to a case study essay and verification of no game disqualifications.

Region 4 - Joseph Eaton (Monroe County), Lisa Ross (Warren Central) 

Region 5 - Chris Thomas (Taylor County), Kelsey Robinson (Nelson County)
