Greater Louisville, KY

By: Scott Raque

The “bloodlines” of the kids who compete here are as rich and deep as the Thoroughbreds running on that first weekend in May.

They’re at the post!  ANNNND…They’re Off!

It’s a familiar sound heard all around the city of Louisville this time of year as Kentucky Derby festivities take place all over the city.

It is also what is being heard in the office of High School Sports - The Magazine. We are off and running with our second issue of the most dynamic and exciting magazine dedicated to high school athletics in the Greater Louisville area. We are extremely happy to be a part of such a wonderful community, bringing awareness of the numerous student athletes blessed with their many talents.

It is the greatest two minutes of sports, and everyone wants to know “Who won the Kentucky Derby?” It is a very proud moment for the city when the winner is crowned with a blanket of roses and the community can show off its “southern hospitality” to the world and exactly how special this town is to all who reside here.

Another source of pride for Louisvillians is their high school alma mater. We are always so proud to let them know where we went and when we graduated. It exemplifies who we are and where we came from. The “bloodlines” of the kids who compete here are as rich and deep as the Thoroughbreds running on that first weekend in May.

We at High School Sports – The Magazine Greater Louisville will bring to our readers the most interesting student athletes and the most compelling stories. When we joined the team of HSSTM we could not wait to shout out to all:  We are from Louisville, home of the greatest high school programs in the county! Now our dream is a reality. Thank you, Louisville, for letting us be a part of your life. It is, and will always be, a true honor to brag about…YOUR KIDS. YOUR SCHOOLS. YOUR COMMUNITIES. This is YOUR MAGAZINE!
