Girl's Soccer is ready to 'kick off'

The girl's soccer preview: Sacred Heart: The Valkyries lost nine seniors off of last year's state championship team, but they are still ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll. Key players returning are: junior Nikki Hafele and sophomore Lucy Chauvin, both starting forwards, junior Jackie Hafele, senior Brittany Eisner, senior Jill Jones, senior Kayla Duffey and junior Jenna Price. Manual: They should be strong in the 6th Region again this year with players such as sophomores Emma Brown and Casey Whitfield. They also have 12 seniors returning, with the goal guarded by junior Kayla King. Assumption: The Rockets lost 9 seniors off of last year's team which lost to Sacred Heart in the 7th Region final, but Coach Kenyon Meyer is not worried. With just three seniors in the line-up- Olivia Hemme at goalkeeper, forward Erin Storck and midfielder Deanna Thomas- the Rockets are thinking positive. South Oldham: They won the 8th Region last year, but are feeling a great loss with not having Ally Byrd, first team All-State pick. Oldham County: Six starters are returning this year, with Baileigh Frantz and Sarah Ingle leading the way. North Oldham: They lost only 2 starters off of last year's team which finished 13-9-1.
