Local Teams Show Their Stuff in Derek Smith Shootout

At the Derek Smith Shootout June 19 and 20, local teams offered a preview of the 2009-10 season. Eastern dominated pool and tournament play in the open division, claiming the tournament title with a 7-0 record. Above, St. Xavier's Patrick Butcher is guarding Manual's Andre Gray. Justin Raque and Tre Jones are trailing. 

In all, 44 teams from around Kentucky and Indiana, along with several from Ohio and Tennessee, joined in the action in the shootout’s three divisions at HOOPS and MidAmerica Sports Center.
