It is that time of year again when we “tee it up” and “kick off” another season of high school football in Greater Louisville. In this issue, VYPE High School Sports Magazine has canvassed the area to introduce you to some of the top players in Class 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A, plus Southern Indiana. (The August issue will cover Kentucky’s Class 5A and 6A.) There are many athletes who deserve to be on our cover and in our pages, but we believe these young men are truly ones to watch. Each of these players just may be the deciding factor in their high school team making it to a state championship.

Our football preview also features a summary for each team, with 2007 stats and a look at players the coaches believe will lead their teams this fall. I am sure we have missed some talented players--there are just too many in our area to cover in one issue--but we will be there each and every Friday night, looking for that special athlete or team to write about.

Beginning in September, we will be announcing the “Game of the Week” where the VYPE High School Sports Magazine cameras will be there to snap that game-winning touchdown or game-saving tackle. So, get ready to cheer on your team and look for VYPE High School Sports Magazine to be there at the tailgates, on the sidelines and in the stands.

You’ll notice we have made the full transition to our new name: VYPE! We have a new logo, a new website and a new look! You might ask why we have changed our name? The answer is simple: Rebranding to VYPE High School Sports Magazine allows for growth of the magazine into new facets of an athlete’s life. We want to know what makes you, the high school athlete, tick. In our story “VYPE Unleashed,” on page 33, we let you know how VYPE will take you further into the world of high school sports than anyone ever has before.

Don’t forget to check out our online community at www.VYPE.com. We invite you to get involved and connect with other athletes from our area and around the county.
