Javanon U-16 to play in National Championship Tourney

Local Soccer Team Plays Big to Win Big
The Javanon Boys U-16 team will travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to potentially play for a national title. The team won the regional tourney in Rockford, Illinois this past week.
Play started on June 20 when the "U-16" dominated league pool play. After winning the pool, the team defeated Vardar Red of Michigan 3-1. The team then defeated Illinois' based Eclipse Select 3-1 to claim the Midwest Region II Championship. By winning the regional championship, the team qualified to play for the US Youth Soccer National Championship title. National tourney play begins in Little Rock on July 22.

Middle Row, left – right; Ben Raymond, Cullen Hall, Ryan Miller, Trevor Bruner, Johnny Cantrell, Max McKiernan
Top Row, left – right; Brandon Causey, Austin Chitwood, Jack Goblirsch, Taylor Hafling, Layth Masri, Cole Page, William Vitalis
The team is coached by Tim Chastonay, Head Coach of both Men's and Women's Soccer at Bellarmine University and Georgetown College Men's Soccer Head Coach Derek Willis.
Javanon Soccer Club has also won national championships in two previous years, 1997 and 2006.
