Welcome to the third issue of High School Sports – The Magazine. When I introduce the magazine to people, they always ask how we decide which teams and athletes to write about. We obviously want to have photos and information on the major events and tournaments of the month, but we also want to highlight players and teams who are up-and-comers, individual athletes who excel at academics and other valuable activities as well as athletics, coaches who have a great impact on kids’ lives, and the kids who just had a really great day at their sport.
We need your help in finding out about these stories. While we try to have contact with as many people as possible, we cannot be on top of what’s happening in more than 25 sports at 59 schools and numerous club organizations in 7 counties. I know there are hundreds of kids and dozens of teams worthy of our coverage. We need your help to find out about as many as we can.
If you know of a kid, a team or a coach that we should cover, please let us know. If you have an idea for a story you would like to write or see written, please let us know. If you took a great photo We still may not be able to cover everyone who deserves it, but at least we’ll have a chance.
You may have noticed on our cover that we have added the name Vype. We will be gradually switching to the name Vype—High School Sports Magazine to create an identity that is more unique and quicker to say. You have to admit that High School Sports – The Magazine is a bit of a mouthful. While that name does perfectly describe who we are, we’ll use Vype as a unique identity.
