Why they're a team to watch: Coach Kenny Perry has 16 starters to replace. That will be tough. He has the one starter he would have wanted back, quarterback Christian Matthews, back for his senior season. Matthews is that dual-threat QB who can make everyone around him improve quickly. He passed for 2,806 yards and 26 touchdowns last season. Matthews has some help with returning receiver Trae Hawkins, who caught five touchdowns passes. The question is can Bowie build a championship defense with only two starters returning? It will be up to all-district players like Chris Hank to make that happen.
