Players to watch: RB Vernon Hunt, DT Steve Richards, QB Chris Hight, OG Kevin Davidson, RB Reginald Peagram, WR Davieon Johnson, LB Ladarrion Lucas, CB Chris Miller
Outlook: The Trojans expect improvement after qualifying for the playoffs last season. Madison’s nine returning offensive starters include speedy skills players in Hight (6-3, 210, 4.5), Hunt (6-0, 185, 4.4) and leading rusher Peagram (6-2, 215, 4.5). Hunt is also a receiving weapon catching five TDs in 2007. Davidson (6-2, 300) provides size up front for the Trojans. Lucas (6-2, 200, 4.5) and Miller (6-0, 175, 4.5) headline an experienced defense also returning nine starters.

Players to watch: QB Tyler Lynch, RB Jared Jones, DB Justin Henderson, LB Undra Hendrix, LB Brian Nixon, RB Dovia Ingram, OL Luis Prado
Outlook: Ranchview’s few full varsity schedules haven’t been easy, but the Wolves are on the prowl for a playoff position. Lynch, Jones and Ingram will be the catalysts for Ranchview’s spread offense. Jamari Akers, Devin Brown and Alton Marshall will anchor the Wolves’ offensive line. Henderson scored two TDs on interception returns last season.
Dallas Roosevelt Mustangs
District 11-3A

2007 record: 11-2, DI regional finalist
Returning Lettermen: 26
Returning Starters: 6 Off./7 Def.
Players to watch: RB/DB Kevin Booker, RB Decamron Kincade
Outlook: The Mustangs face the tough proposition of replacing quarterback Vincent McNeil Jr, who produced more than 3,600 yards of total offense in 2007. Booker returns as the Mustangs’ most experienced back, having rushed for more than 1,100 yards and 12 TDs last season. Kincade will be asked to step up his production from last year’s the 384 yards and 3 TDs.

Outlook: Expectations are high in Ferris where the Jackets return 29 lettermen from last year’s playoff team. Masterson returns as the team’s top receiver with 16 catches for a 26-yard avg. and 6 touchdowns in ’07. Hopkins moves over from the defensive secondary to take on rushing duties. Grady (6-0, 211, 4.6) and James (5-10, 174, 4.5) should stand out on a maturing defense returning seven starters.

Outlook: The Lions’ four returning offensive starters include skill positions in Hodge and Taylor. Hodge rushed for more than 750 yards and seven TDs, while Taylor caught five TD passes in ’07. Renell Thompson and Price will headline a defense returning five starters.

Outlook: A flock of returning starters has the Eagles expecting great things in 2008. Boseman (6-3, 175) and Kintz (6-2, 160, 4.8) combined for almost 2,000 total yards and 28 TDs last season. Mick and Kintz (5 INTs) will anchor the defense.
