Rifle Title Holders

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn., April 23, 2008 – Saint Thomas Academy announced today that its Rifle Team took first place in the Scholastic Division at the 2008 NRA National Junior Rifle Indoor Sectional Championships in Grand Rapids, Minn., as the team competed for state and regional championships. Saint Thomas Academy’s team consisted of Nick Boerboon ’11 of Prior Lake, David Zimmermann ’10 of Eagan, Will Sullivan ’09 of Minneapolis (Captain) and Blake Bowersox ’09 of St. Mary’s Point (Captain). In addition to the team honors, Bowersox earned a first place JROTC participation medal. Sullivan and Zimmermann placed second and third overall in the Sporter category. The team has one last major competition – the 2008 Minnesota State, National Junior Olympic Three-Position Air Rifle Championship on April 24, 2008. This competition will determine which team will represent Minnesota at the national competition this summer in Anniston, Ala.
