Conroe (Texas) High School has two verbally committed athletes in defensive back Chris Parks and defensive end Brandon Thornton. Both have verbally committed to SMU and they have a teammate who has verbally committed to another Texas school.
Kyle Brown is a legitimate 6-foot-4, 265-pound versatile athlete who could end up playing on either side of the ball.
“Kyle is a tough kid who goes both ways for us,” coach Roger Holtkamp. “He has committed to the UTEP Miners. He’s going to be a solid athlete at the Division I level.”
Brown was receiving interest from Kansas State as well, but decided on the Miners. Brown will be joining local athletes in The Woodlands’ Andy McCloud and Huntsville’s James Davidson, who committed to UTEP last year from the north Houston area.
