Thursday, October 1, 2009

Fort Gibson's Courtney Gaston has made a verbal commitment to play football at Arkansas University. The 6-foot-4 215 pound senior, ranked among the top 50 outside linebackers in the nation, made his decision from a list of college offers including Tulsa, Texas Tech, Kansas and Kansas State. Last season, Gaston made 111 tackles for the Tigers. So far this season, Gaston,a two-way starter doubling as a linebacker and wide receiver, has made 21 tackles plus grabbing 8 pass receptions for 128 yards and 3 scores for Fort Gibson. Courtney is the 3rd member of his family to play college sports. His brother, Terrance, is a starting linebacker at Northeastern State University where Gaston's sister, Veronica, was a member of the Riverhawks basketball team.
