Senioritis isn't settling in yet for the Union Redskins senior center Alec Henry. But how could it? He's starting on one of the best teams in the state of Oklahoma and was able to start what Union fans hope is another winning streak over the Broken Arrow Tigers.
"Oh that was awesome! Alot of hard work in the summer paid off in that game. I wish we could have had a better outcome in the Jenks game though," Henry said by way of text following practice Wednesday.
The Redskins were able to beat Broken Arrow in the season opener 17-6. But turnovers were too much to overcome as Union lost to crosstown rival Jenks in the MidFirst Backyard Bowl 27-25.
For Henry recruiting is going slow currently with college coaches busy in their seasons as well. But the 6-4, 297 pound center knows that if he keeps working hard and shows college coaches what he can do on tape that recruiting will pick up.
So what does a big guy like Alec do after practice?
"I'm def(definitely) eating man," text Alec.
