Nelson Staying Close to Home

Bixby runningback/safety and TulsacommitDewitt Jennings commented in the Tulsa World prior to the Spartans matchup with Glenpool that he's been trying to get the Chieftains runningback Marco Nelson to commit to the Golden Hurricane. Apparently Jennings recruiting job was a success on Friday as Marco Nelson committed to the Golden Hurricane on Monday. Nelson, a 6-1, 190 pound Senior is the 16th commitment to Tulsa and the ninth from the area. Nelson drew interest from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, UCLA and Arizona according to the Tulsa World. Nelson told the World that the recruting game was taking its toll on him and thus he pulled the trigger.

"I was getting nervous of if Iwas going to have a scholarship," Nelson told the Tulsa World.

Marco joins Bixby's Dewitt Jennings; Union's Deonte Morris, James and Thomas Roberson and Luke Snider; Jenks' Jake Alexander and Tyler Ott; and Muskogee's Brenton Bogar on the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes 2010 recruiting list.
