Jon Hood Named Kentucky's Mr. Basketball

The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation announced today that Jon Hood is Kentucky's Mr. Basketball for 2009. He is the sixty-ninth recipient of Mr. Kentucky's #1 Jersey and Award. The Madisonville North Hopkins senior has signed to play at the University of Kentucky. This year's Kentucky vs. Indiana All-Star games will be played Saturday, June 13th in Indianapolis and Sunday, June 14th at Bellarmine University in Louisville. In addition to the games, the 2nd Annual Kentucky All-Star Eye Ball/Gala with all proceeds from this All-Star weekend to benefit the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation. Tony Hopper from Apollo High School will be this year's head coach. His Assistant Coach will be Mike Listerman from Covington Catholic. Despite an injury that ended his high school career early, Hood hopes to play in the Derby Festival Classic All-Star game at Freedom Hall on April 11.
