In its fifth year, the Brittany Willis Memorial Scholarship Soccer Showcase is bigger and better than ever. Ten high school girls' soccer teams are among the 69 featured in the event which starts at 5:15 on Friday, March 27 and winds down after closing matches at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. Teams from the Triangle are Saint Mary's School; Wakefield; Millbrook; Broughton; East Chapel Hill; Panther Creek; Ravenscroft; Cary Academy; Cardinal Gibbons, and East Wake. One of the biggest rivalries of the tournament will be between NCHSAA No. 3 East Chapel Hill and No. 4 Broughton. The showcase was started in 2005 as a memorial to Brittany Willis, a Wilson Hunt High School student and soccer player. She was murdered in a random act of violence just after her high school graduation. For more information visit www.thebrittany.org
