Editor's Note: Dallas Christian's Chris Adcock is considered one of the state's highest rated offensive line recruits. He will provide an ongoing inside look at recruiting on VYPE.com/DFW: This weekend was the visit to Oklahoma State University. They invited me to a Junior Day and to attend the basketball game vs. Texas. I received the invite in the mail a while back, and I don't really have any personal contacts there. Hopefully I get to meet my recruiting coach and/or my position coach. I've done my homework for school and done a little extra homework to get an overview of OSU's program and university. The visits are fun and informative, but they take up time so it can be hard to keep up with schoolwork and training. This is the part of the year when you have to make a lot of visits with Junior Days and spring games/practices. Even though it is a hassle, it is a necessary part of recruiting to get a chance for some face time with a coach and/or let the school know that you are interested. It really helps that my parents and coaches are both supportive in helping me get where I need to be and helping me achieve the goals that I have set out for myself. The OSU visit went well. The new facilities will be awesome when they are finished. A unique thing about this visit was the player panel. OSU players were available for a Q&A session. They were very funny and seemed very happy at OSU. It would be nice if all the schools made players available to talk and give an inside view of the school. I found out a lot about the university and program from their input. Coach Mike Gundy did a brief intro and introduced the rest of the coaches. Eventually we had a meeting with our position coach. I gave him my highlight film after the meeting and then went to the basketball game with my dad. I was most impressed by the way the players presented the program and by the strength and conditioning staff. The head strength coach really sounds like he knows his stuff and you will get stronger with his program. Hopefully the O-Line coach is impressed with my highlight film and contacts me for game tape. I have to keep working in the weight room and get our team ready for next year. It is hard to balance everything, but I believe it will be worth it in the end. My next visit is Northwestern University next Saturday. They seem very interested and are expecting me ,so hopefully it will be a good visit as well.
