It' s Coming Down to the Wire for the Men

Knightdale, Enloe, Southern and Panther Creek advance to the Eastern Sectional finals as men's basketball inches closer to determining the state championship field. In action Wednesday, Knightdale's Stan Okoye's record setting performance - 42 points - lifted the Knights past Riverside in a hair-raising match-up and finishing with a 70-69 score. Middle Creek and Enloe kept it close until Enloe moved ahead in the fourth quarter, ousting the Mustangs 62-50. Southern Durham dashed Garner's hopes, beating the Trojans 81-78 Panther Creek gave Millbrook a spanking, and a big defeat: 55-25. This weekend finds Knightdale in a face-off with Enloe and Southern facing Panther Creek.
