They call him "Caddy", also known as Brian Catellier through the halls at Pendleton Heights High School. He is a junior on the wrestling team that is making his first debut at the Semi State next weekend. Caddy has been wrestling since the 7th grade, not a long time by the standards set forth in this sport. He had been steadily improving year after year, and as he approached the County tournament ( Dec. 20th ) his sophmore year he was looking towards a strong finish. But in the final match of the 285# heavy weight bout, Caddy at 240 was the involved in a freak injury. His left leg was crushed, ankle blown out and he lay on the mat in unbearable pain. A trip to the hospital revealed a spiral break of the tibia and total seperation and tear of everything in his ankle. Surgery!!! A metal plate extends down his leg, pins and screws in his ankle the road to recovery great. Caddy who also plays football was looking at a 9 to 12 month recovery. Football was almost certain not an opption, wrestling... maybe. But he was determined to return by football season. Sure enough he was released in time to start summer work outs and tryouts. He worked hard and was looking forward to his comeback in wrestling. As wrestling season approached he came out hard. Winning against some tough opponets and losing to some good ones also. At the county this year he posted a 2nd place finish against Elwoods Becher, and came home with a seperated shoulder. Yet another set back. He sat out for 2 weeks and worked on cardio, ready to go again at sectionals. He made it to the final match once again a tough Becher, again Second. Now on to regionals. PHHS regional is one of the toughest in the state. Yet, here he is, the kid who a year ago was wandering if he would ever play sports again. The underdog, unrated jumior from PH that no one talks about. At the regional he had a tough match against Stokes from Cathedral, whom was predicted to win and face Cuevas in the Semis. Caddy advances! He faced Cuevas and was defeated, not easlily mind you. In the end he finishes 4th. Now to Semi State.
I feel that this is a great comeback story! I am sure that you can do a better job writing this than I. I hope that this gives you a story idea. Thank you
