I was not sure when you do your youth football preview but thought you may be interested in knowing about an elite group of young men selected out of the INFC youth football league to be a part of a All-Star tournament team which began the week after the INFC championship games. They were coached by a group of men from several different INFC teams. The coaching staff was lead by Head Coach Sean Quillen, Kendall Minnix and Coach Tyrone Lynn, whose oldest son plays middle linebacker for the University of Nebraska; middle son is Gabe Lynn, a senior at Jenks who just committed to the University of Oklahoma, and his youngest son who was selected for the CityWide All-Star team. As well as other top coaches from several different teams in the INFC. This team consisted of the most talented players at each skilled position, They had selected the top 5th graders from Jenks, BrokenArrow, TYAA Bulldogs, Skiatook, and two fourth graders a lineman from Bartlesville, and a linebacker from Collinsville Red. This 5th grade team traveled 2011 miles covering 4 states from St. Louis, Missouri to Dallas, Texas in just four weeks. They competed against the top 5th grade teams in the country not to mention one sixth grade team from Kansas City for an exhibition game, which ended in a 3 touchdown victory for the boys from Oklahoma. Including defeating the Pop Warner super bowl champs from St. Louis who had never lost a game until they faced Citywide All-Stars in the Turkey Bowl Championship game. They were the 2008 Sooner Classic champions in the 5th grade division. In all they had ended their travel with a score of 382 to their opponents 67. They played in all 4 Championship games and came away with 3 -1st place championships and suffered their only loss in the championship game against a team from Houston, Texas to claim runner up in the Longhorn Classic. This elite group of athletes came from several different teams who battle against each other every week in one of the the most talented youth football organizations in the country. These young men formed a bond of brotherhood that was united by one purpose to bring back the championships to the state they represent, Oklahoma. If you need any further information or pictures please feel free to contact me at bbcjst@hotmail.com. I just wanted to let you know how well the top athletes brought together to represent INFC and the state of Oklahoma did. At every tournament in every state the comments were unbelievable about the program we must have in Oklahoma, the INFC. In today's society where athletes sometimes give the image of it's all me and instead of we the team. It was so refreshing to see this group of boys who were all excellent, athletic football stars on their own team come and join together as a team in every aspect like they had been together for years. There was always a positive word to pick each other up, a pat on the back and a respect that would humble the oldest and wisest of men. It was an example of pure true love for the game of football and the brotherhood it represents.
