Tulsa Talons Honor INFC Players of the Year

Monday, January 26, 2009

The Tulsa Talons announced at the start of the youth football season that a player from each grade, 3rd-7th, would be selected as the Player of the Year. The players were voted on by parents, coaches and fans of the Indian Nations Football Conference. Pictured with the Talons coaching staff is Devon Thomas a Broken Arrow 7th grader that is described as a tough runner and a hard hitter. Thomas finished his youth football career and is ready to make a difference next season as he enters school ball for Broken Arrow. Next to Thomas is Bryce Cabrera from Owasso. Cabrera is a fantastic football player that is described by a coach online as one of the best players he's coached against in a long time. Cabrera plays several different positions and loves football. The Lil big man wearing #1 is Keelan Hay from TYAA. Hay is an exciting runner and a solid defensive player. He's a threat to break every play for a touchdown when he has the ball. On Hay's left is Jenks player Carter Nelson. Nelson is known for his hard hits and being one of the toughest players on the field. Nelson plays with a high level of intensity and is described as the ultimate team player. Last but not least is Claremore running back Derrick Reliford. Reliford came into the INFC with a bang in his first season. As part of the champion Claremore Red team, Reliford was a scoring machine and a huge contributor on defense. Coaches pictured with the players include (left to right) Offensive Coordinator Craig Strickland, Line Coach Marty Robinson and Head Coach Mitch Allner. Each player received a plaque and tickets to a Talons football game. For more info on the Tulsa Talons go to www.tulsatalons.com
