PA QB waiting on New Mexico State offer

Pulaski Academy quarterback Spencer Keith still waits for a Division I scholarship offer. Keith visited New Mexico State this weekend but left the Las Cruces campus without an offer. Keith said newly hired Aggies coach DeWayne Walker told him he offered a San Diego-area prospect last Thursday. Walker said if that player spurns the Aggies, Keith would get the scholarship offer. "I left a little frustrated," Keith said. "I was hoping to have an offer before I visited Vanderbilt. I'm planning on going to Vanderbilt this weekend and see what happens." Keith hopes to hear from Walker about his status at New Mexico State before heading to Nashville. If Keith doesn't receive an offer from either school, he wants to walk on at Vanderbilt. "(Vanderbilt) is a great school academically, and that's important," said Keith, who owns a 30 ACT score and a 4.43 GPA. " I could walk on there and work hard and hopefully get into the rotation." Keith, an all-state basketball guard, said some schools including Arkansas-Little Rock have shown interest, but said he would rather pursue football, even if it's as a walk-on.
