Cary Wrestling Coach Logs 600th Win

The Bob Mauldin's Mat News Classic marked milestones for the Cary High School Wrestling program. Head Wrestling Coach Jerry Winterton logged his 600th career win, and top-ranked wrestlers Eloheim Palma and and Gabe Brotzman each won their 200th. Winterton, who is the nation's leader in tournament victories, reached the elite ranks with this victory over Chapel Hill. In the same match, Palma, the nation's top-ranked heavyweight,cruised to his 200th victory, and 152-pounder, Brotzman, ranked number 1 in North Carolina, did the same. The Imps won all five of the tournament matches to win the Classic and remain unbeaten this season.
