Wylie nose guard Nikita Whitlock, the Associated Press' Class 5A defensive player of the year, orally committed to Wake Forest on Sunday. While some colleges did not recruit Whitlock because of his 5-11, 245-pound frame, he told The Dallas Morning News that Wake Forest coaches planned to move him to middle linebacker.
