Charleston's Loughridge To Lead West All-Stars

Charleston coach Doug Loughridge has been selected as the head coach for West squad in this year's 54th Annual All-Star game, which will be held June 26 at Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville. Loughridge led the Tigers to the Class 3A state championship. He will be assisted by Barry Lunney of Bentonville, Scott Reed of El Dorado, Clint Ashcraft of Siloam Springs, Chris Vereen of De Queen, Jeff Starks of Bigelow and Greg Kendrick of Charleston. Head coach for the East Football squad is Ellis "Scooter" Register of Little Rock Catholic. Coach Register will be assisted by Randy Coleman of Jonesboro, Russell Smith of West Helena Central, Jeff Jones of Lonoke, Greg Smith of Prescott, Tim Harper of Des Arc and David Estes of Little Rock Catholic. The Arkansas High School Coaches Association Clinic will be held June 24-26, 2009, at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Fayetteville. Several Arkansas High School coaches and college coaches will be featured speakers during the week.
