Local Drivers Doing Well at Chili Bowl

Friday, January 16, 2009

The Broken Arrow product, Brady Bacon is doing well at the 2009 Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bacon raced Wednesday night and finished first in the C Feature 1. Bacon is excited to be racing in Tulsa again, but admits they have a lot of work to do, "we did ok, but we have some work to do if we're going to be there Saturday night. You can't control what other people do and sometimes you get caught up in the mess, but we're focused on making a run Saturday." Bacon along with several other drivers from the Tulsa area are putting on a great show in search of that Golden Driller. Donnie Ray Crawford is another Tulsa driver looking to make the show for Saturday. Cruz Pedregon, better known for his drag racing than his dirt cars said, "this event, all of the people, the different drivers is great. I'm a big fan of these cars and drivers and we all like to be a part of it. I'd like to have a car in the hunt, but there's nothing like the Saturday night event at 10 o'clock when they push off the A Main cars with big dogs from the front row to the last row, there's just nothing like it. It's a lot of fun." Saturday the doors open at 9am and racing begins at 1:10pm. The 50-lap A Main is scheduled to start at 10pm.
