Raleigh - Knightdale lost a nailbiter tonight at the GSK Holiday Tournament in the semi-finals against Centennial High School of Georgia 65 - 62. Standout senior Stan Okoye finished the game as the leading scorer, racking up a double double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. The team shot 60% from the field and 37.5% from the 3-point arch. "We felt we gave it away, we had an opportunity to put it away and didn't," said Knightdale Coach Battle Watkins. Knightdale had a 3-point lead in the fourth quarter and looked to be the upset of the tourney but couldn't maintain the lead in the final few minutes of the game. The team also suffered from 17 turnovers during the game. "We didn't execute when we had the lead," said Okoye. "We were focused on not losing the lead instead of increasing it." Knightdale will face Panther Creek tomorrow for a shot at 3rd place.
