The 2008 Cap 7 awards have been released, and conference champion Wake Forest-Rolesville is well represented. Running back Trea Jones was the Offensive Player of the Year, linebacker Terrell Hartsfield was the Defensive Player of the Year, Earl Smith was Coach of the Year and 11 players were named all-conference. The Cougars won the Cap 7 for the third straight year after going 5-1 in league play. They reached the NCHSAA 4-AA East Regional final but lost to Fayetteville Britt 27-16 to finish the season 12-3. Millbrook running back Kuwon Eldridge was named the Cap 7's overall MVP.
