Canyon Creek Christian Rushes to State Title

Canyon Creek Christian used a dominating running game to outlast Legacy Christian, 33-30, in the TAPPS Division IV state championship game in Killeen. Canyon Creek's Rett Miller rushed for 290 yards on 35 carries and scored four touchdowns including runs of 63 and 32 yards. Canyon Creek (13-1) was forced to hold off a late rally when Legacy's Mark Berry scored on a one-yard run with less than two minutes to play. Legacy (12-2) recovered the ensuing onside kick, but ran out of downs with less than a minute to play.
