McGuinness goes for a third in a row

Bishop McGuinness will play for a third-consecutive state championship and Carl Albert will try for its first since 2006 after each team won its respective games Saturday afternoon. Carl Albert dominated Lawton MacArthur, 47-14, in Norman, earning a rematch with Tulsa Washington. Game time and site will be determined by the OSSAA either Sunday or Monday. Tulsa Washington ripped Carl Albert in the season opener, 40-7. Tulsa Washington beat El Reno 28-7 Saturday. Tulsa Washington will be playing for its first state title since 1984. Meanwhile, Bishop McGuinness beat Grove 29-28 and will play Glenpool at a date and site to be determined by the OSSAA. The teams played last season in the Class 4A final with the Irish winning and claiming a 28th-consecutive victory. Glenpool beat Broken Bow 12-7. In Class 3A, Sequoyah-Claremore will play Cascia Hall for the title. Claremore beat Clinton 34-31 and Cascia beat Tuttle 13-10.
