Broughton's Baseball Team Members Intent on Playing College Ball

Three of Broughton High School's Baseball team have signed letters of intent to play for colleges in the Southeast. Michael Zeblo, a middle infielder has signed to play at Davidson to play as a true shortstop. Daniel Brown, a right-handed pitcher with an 89 MPH fastball, will suit up for Liberty University and Jake Klein will play centerfield for Furman University. Zeblo played locally for South Hurricane and Broughton High School and will suit up for Wildcats of Davidson College and Head Coach Dick Cooke. According to South Canes Head Coach Doug Collins statement posted on the team's website, "Davidson is getting a very talented baseball player and a quality young man. Michael is a hard worker and take the game very seriously. He has so many tools and will be a tremendous asset to the baseball program at Davidson. I cant wait to see what he does over the next 4 years." The Diamond Sports Foundation naming them as Zeblo as one of the winners of the 2006 Diamond Awards. Broughton is a traditional national power and was the 2006 state 4-A champion.
