Friendswood (Texas) tight end Austin Fitzpatrick has been waiting for his first offer for months. It finally came this week prior to the Mustangs' playoff appearance. The 6-foot-2 athlete is the son of former Miami Hurricane all-American offensive lineman Tony Fitzpatrick, who is an NFL alumni and former assistant coach for the University of Houston. "He's thrilled to have his first offer," Tony Fitzpatrick said. "He was offered by the University of Louisiana-Lafayette as a tight end. He's got a good motor and is very versatile." Fitzpatrick is also receiving interest from the likes of Arizona, Florida International and Louisiana Tech, among others. "We went down to a UL-L game this fall and had a great time," Fitzpatrick said. "He liked the atmosphere." Friendswood won their district and will face the defending Class 4A state champions Lamar Consolidated this weekend.
