Three from Park sign tenders

St. Paul, MN

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

November 12th is the first day of the early signing period for students to sign a national letter of intent to participate in inter-collegiate athletics for next year (the signing period for football and soccer will occur later in the school year). Park High School will have three student-athletes signing a letter of intent on this day. Tina Fisher will sign a letter of intent to play basketball for Ohio University. Katya Leick will be signing with the University of Nebraska to play basketball. Another basketball player, Holly Riesselman, will sign to play for Minnesota State University - Moorhead. All three of these girls have been on the varsity team since they were in ninth grade. There will be a brief signing ceremony at Park on Wednesday, November 12th. The ceremony will begin at 2:30 and will take place in the school's media center. Coach Stephanie Tolkinen will say a few words about these student-athletes, and then the girls will sign their national letter of intent. The parents and booster club will hold a reception immediately following the signing in the library. The public is welcome to join us in honoring these three young ladies as they take the next step to continuing their athletic careers.

Should the NFHS govern every state as it pertains to high school athletics? Or should each state be managed by their own governing body?
